Need help with Bene? Email hello@trybene.com and we'll get back to you within 1–2 working days. Including your app version (Profile → bottom of the screen) and a screenshot speeds things up. Common questions are answered below.

Your data and account

  • Is my data backed up? Yes. Everything you log is synced to your account. If you get a new phone or reinstall the app, sign in with the same account and your data restores automatically.
  • How do I delete my account? Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your cloud data, your sign-in record, and the data on your device. It cannot be undone.
  • Signing out: signing out removes your data from the device (it stays safely in your account). Note that Bene will ask you to finish or discard an unsaved workout first.
  • Privacy: what we collect and where it goes is written to be read — see the Privacy Policy.

Subscription and free trial

  • Managing or cancelling: subscriptions are billed through Apple. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or billing period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Restore purchases:if your subscription isn't recognised on a new device, use the Restore Purchases button on the paywall (make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account).
  • Refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Using the app

  • Apple Health:connect it in Profile → Connected sources. Bene reads completed workouts (from your watch or other apps) and shows them in your Log; strength workouts you logged manually are enriched with your watch's heart-rate and energy data instead of being duplicated. If nothing appears, check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Bene.
  • Meal scan:results are estimates from a single photo — that's why Bene always shows you an editable review before anything is logged. Adjust portions before saving; the barcode scanner or search are more precise when you have the package.
  • Coach:the coach answers based on what you've logged — the more consistent your logging, the more useful it gets. It requires an internet connection, and it's guidance, not medical advice.
  • Units: switch between kg and lbs in Profile → Preferences. Existing entries convert instantly for display.

Troubleshooting

  • Something didn't sync? Check your connection, then force-quit and reopen the app. Your local logs are never lost by a failed sync — Bene saves on-device first.
  • Coach or meal scan unavailable? Both need an internet connection. If the problem persists on a good connection, email us — including the approximate time it happened helps us find it in the logs.
  • Found a bug? We genuinely want to hear it: hello@trybene.com.
